The Department of Philosophy, established within the Faculty of Arts and Sciences in Nevşehir Hacı Bektaş Veli University, is among the departments approved by the Higher Education Council (YÖK) at the undergraduate level education since the academic year of 2017-2018. There are four faculty members in the department's staff. The Department of Philosophy includes the History of Philosophy, Systematic Philosophy and Logic and History of Science, and it provides a Turkish-medium education. In the department, the history of philosophy courses which reflect the historical development of philosophy from antiquity to the present day are given, as well as several must and elective courses related to the sub-disciplines of philosophy. In addition to this, it is aimed to make students philosophize by synthesizing the local and the universal way of thinking. With this regard, a series of courses which are reflecting the intellectual and philosophical heritage of the Turkish world are given.
